Serra Karacam is  a news producer, guest segment producer and podcast editor based in Virginia/ DC area.

She has been worked as a news editor, presenter, reporter and program producer for media organizations such as Habertürk, Al Jazeera, TRT, 24 News, TGRT and IHA.

She started her career as overseas news producer in 2003 in istanbul, worked in DC for IHA News Agency for short period of time and returned to work  as Morning News anchor at Channel 24 in 2007.

She left in 2009  to work at TRT, hosted a daily media criticism show and evening news later.

She has worked as producer and presenter of daily media criticism show “Medya Mufettisi” analyzing news coverage of media, newspaper articles, TV shows in terms of objectivity and impartiality. Exclusive Interviews with politicians, academics, columnists, opinion makers, community leaders.

She is an experienced media professional who has worked as an interview producer and news editor in international news networks.

She graduated from Kadir Has University, Department of International Relations in istanbul in 2004. With special interests in social policies, media neutrality, freedom of expression, political, ethnic and sectarian diversity in Turkey, political Islam and the Middle East.

She has been following US politics and foreign policy as well as social policies in the U.S. since 2018 as interview producer and news editor.

She is currently based in DC as a freelance TV News producer.
